Chernick Sanctuary is small landlocked wetland parcel in the Town of Mount Pleasant. There are no maintained trails.

Saw Mill River Audubon holds an access easement over the adjacent Con Edison property from the corner of Briarwood Lane and Beech Hill Road.

For protection of the wildlife and habitat, camping, fires, biking, hunting and motorized vehicles are not permitted in any of our sanctuaries.

Our sanctuaries are maintained by a part-time caretaker and volunteers on trail maintenance days. A group of volunteer "Trail Walkers" monitors individual sanctuaries and reports on their conditions.[More About Trail Walkers]

From New York Route 9A, exit on to Route 117 and continue west in the direction of Sleepy Hollow (North Tarrytown). Continue a short distance to the first traffic light and turn right onto Beech Hill Road. After one half mile, Briarwood Lane is on the left.
